Exercise Physiology is now available at Bungee Fitness
We offer one-on-one sessions with our Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists are University-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in prescribing evidence based exercise treatment plans.
Who can they help?
Exercise Physiologists can work with all people who want too improve their health and well-being. They have the expertise to work with and prescribe exercise for people who are living with a chronic condition, people who have a disability and people recovering from an injury.
Who can access Exercise Physiology Services?
- NDIS participants (self-managed & plan-managed)
- Private clients
- People with a chronic disease. Medicare rebate available through a Chronic disease management plan. with GP referral
- Private health insurance may cover part of your sessions
What to expect from an Exercise Physiologist?
- Exercise screening - to rule out any contraindications to bungee and arial fitness
- A through one hour initial assessment to find out more about you, your goals, aspirations, medical history, exercise history, a physical assessment based on you and your goals.
- A tailored Exercise Prescription and ongoing one-on-one sessions with your Exercise Physiologist.
- Reporting to your relevant medical parties, plus, any other members of your treatment team
- On going monitoring, reassessment and refining of your exercise prescription based on your goals and progress.
Exercise Contraindications
Before starting, some conditions may need review:
- Pregnancy or recent surgery
- Neck or back pain
- Unstable or unhealed fractures
- Atlantoaxial Instability (AAI)
- Osteogenesis imperfecta
- Unmanaged urinary/bowel incontinence
- PEG tube use
- Pelvic floor reconstruction
- Hernias or colostomy bag
- Detached retinas
- POTS
- High blood pressure (180/100+)
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Vertigo, seizures, or epilepsy
- Dwarfism
- Surgically implanted devices (if yes, please advise during pre-screen)
How Can I book an a appointment?
Exercise Physiology sessions are available on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sessions are limited, so be sure to book early to secure your spot. Each program is personalised to your individual goals and needs and may incorporate bungee and aerial equipment
.
What happens if I'm unsuitable for Bungee and aerial equipment?
Our Exercise Physiologist will create an evidence based tailored exercise plan to help you work towards your goals. Our Exercise Physiologist
will continue to work with you, review your plan and discuss your progress towards bungee and aerial fitness classes.
How do I progress to group sessions?
Once you and your Exercise Physiologist are happy with your progress, you may transition into group bungee classes or continue with the one-on-one sessions with your Exercise Physiologist
